Your role at Clorox:
Kingsford Manufacturing in Belle, Missouri is proud to be a producer of 100% American-made charcoal briquets. Kingsford is the leading manufacturer of charcoal in the United States and our charcoal has become synonymous with authentic grilling, good food and most importantly, good times.
Starting Hourly Rate - The starting hourly rate is $21.94 plus $0.80 shift differential on the night shift. After qualifying in the role, the base pay rate increases to $22.61 per hour.
Work Schedule - 2-2-3 schedule
12-hour shifts
14-day rotation (2 weeks of day shift, followed by 2 weeks of night shift)
Shift example:
Week 1 (Day Shift 7am - 7pm): 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on
Week 2 (Day Shift 7am - 7pm): 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off
Week 3 (Night Shift 7pm - 7am): 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on
Week 4 (Night Shift 7pm - 7am): 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off
In this role, you will:
The Production Worker is responsible for the processing, manufacture, packaging, storing and distribution of charcoal briquettes. The Production Worker may be assigned to work in any of these areas of the plant:
  • Retort - In the Retort department we convert wood waste to char that goes into the charcoal briquettes
  • Manufacturing - In the Manufacturing department we combine the char and other raw materials to create the charcoal briquette
  • Packaging - In the Packaging department we operate machines that package finished charcoal briquettes into bags
  • Warehouse - In the Warehouse we store finished bags of charcoal briquettes for shipments to customers or other warehouses

Essential Functions:
  • Press control buttons to activate machinery and equipment
  • Turn controls to adjust and regulate machine function as well as flow, speed, and temperature
  • Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment
  • Move materials, supplies, components, and finished products between storage and work areas
  • Pour, scoop, or dump specified ingredients into sections of machine prior to starting machines
  • Feed ingredients and products into machines by hand or conveyor and unload finished packaged product
  • Disassemble equipment to repair it or to replace parts
  • Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups or jams or defects
  • Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, remove defective or substandard materials or products
  • Examine, measure, and weigh materials or products to verify conformance to standards
  • Package the product in the form in which it will be sent out
  • Stock and sort product for packaging or filling machine operation, and replenish packaging supplies
  • Operate palletizing equipment to wrap finished products on pallets for site warehouse storage or shipping and distribution
  • Operate powered industrial trucks to move materials and products around the facility, including loading finished product into trailers
  • Operate heavy equipment including bulldozers to move materials around the facility

  • High School or GED equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for minor repairs
  • Ability to work safely and follow established protocols
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience in manufacturing, machine operation, or warehouse environments is preferred, not required
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor mechanical repairs
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices and PPE usage
