Your Opportunity
At Schwab, you're empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us challenge the status quo and transform the finance industry together. We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).
The Finance Specialist Development Program is an approximately three-year rotational program designed to build broad financial experience, strategic perspective, and a strong network across Schwab. As a Finance Specialist, you will provide financial oversight and decision support through analysis, forecasting, reporting, and process improvement while collaborating with business partners, cross-functional teams, and Finance leadership. Your work will help leaders understand business trends, evaluate performance, and make informed decisions that support Schwab's priorities.
Your first year will be with the Investor Services Enterprise Finance Consolidations team, where you will analyze financial and business data, support expense and metric forecasts, and communicate performance results to leadership. Future rotations may provide exposure to Central Finance, Treasury, Controllers, and the Finance Innovation Team, allowing you to develop experience across budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, balance sheet management, accounting, capital markets, securities lending, and the data and systems used throughout the Finance organization.
Throughout the program, you will balance analytical, project-oriented, reporting, and transactional responsibilities while learning how complex financial processes operate. You will use data to identify meaningful insights, solve problems independently, recommend improvements, and help create greater efficiency, scale, and transparency. Success will require sound decision making, attention to detail, curiosity, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while building trusted relationships across teams and locations. After successful completion of the program, qualified Finance Specialists may have the opportunity to advance into a Senior Specialist role within Finance.

  • Analytical Thinking and Attention to Detail when reviewing financial information, identifying trends, and producing accurate results

  • Communication skills with the ability to translate financial analysis into clear written and verbal insights for business partners and leadership
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration skills and an openness to building relationships with colleagues across Finance, the business, and multiple geographic locations
  • Adaptability and Learning Agility when moving between assignments, developing knowledge of new Finance functions, and responding to changing priorities
