Job description

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting day-to-day production by troubleshooting issues, improving processes and ensuring consistent product quality in dynamic rotational molding operations. This role plays a critical part in resolving production challenges, dispositioning nonconforming material, and driving improvements related to molds, fixtures and overall process performance across aerospace, semiconductor, and chemical processing applications.

Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities:
This position includes the following essential functions but is not limited to them:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day manufacturing, process, and quality issues impacting safety, quality, delivery, and productivity through root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support New Product Development (NPD) Engineering in transitioning new and existing products into production by developing and refining manufacturing processes, fixtures, work instructions, and production methods.
  • Lead and manage manufacturing projects from planning through implementation and follow up to support operational, quality and production objectives.
  • Support dispositioning of nonconforming material, including evaluation, rework, and scrap decisions.
  • Develop, improve, and maintain manufacturing processes, tooling, molds, fixtures, equipment, work instructions, and SOPs to ensure safety, efficiency, and consistent product quality.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with operations, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to support production goals and operator training on process improvements and best practices.
  • Design, install, troubleshoot, and improve manufacturing equipment, tooling, molds, fixtures while working cross functionally to support equipment purchases, upgrades, installation activities, budgeting, and CapEx planning and execution.
  • Drive operational improvements focused on cycle time reduction, waste elimination, yield improvements, cost reduction, facility layout optimization, and production flow optimization through Kaizen and lean manufacturing activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or mechanical engineering technology (MET).
  • Must have solid understanding of composite materials, metals, and polymers.
  • 5 - 7 years' experience as a manufacturing engineer.
  • Hands on, shop floor focused mindset.
  • Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques, Lean manufacturing principles, and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex process issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages
  • Experienced in using SolidWorks CAD software
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and customer expected specifications
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:
  • Hands on experience with CNC machines, lathes, tooling, fixtures, or related manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience in rotational molding or plastics manufacturing.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Solid understanding of quality management systems, such as ISO standards.
