We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Sales Representative to join our team at Jer-Den Plastics, a leading manufacturer specializing in rotational molding. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and an understanding of rotational molding manufacturing processes. The Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, maintaining existing customer relationships, and driving revenue growth for our product lines. This role offers the opportunity to work promoting high-quality custom products to a diverse client base across various industries.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Acquisition & Retention: Identify and develop new sales leads within the rotational molding industry, building and maintaining existing strong customer relationships
  • Product Knowledge: Gain a comprehensive understanding of our products, including capabilities, applications, and advantages, to effectively communicate value to prospective clients
  • Sales Presentations & Negotiations: Present our product offerings to potential customers, demonstrate technical knowledge, and negotiate pricing
  • Market Research & Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new market opportunities and potential product innovations
  • Sales Targets & Reporting: Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and KPIs, consistently tracking progress, maintaining a pipeline, and reporting on sales activities and results
  • Customer Service: Address client inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with internal teams (engineering, production, and logistics) to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the production and engineering teams to ensure client specifications and production timelines are met
  • Travel: This position requires travel to engage with clients, participate in trade shows, and represent the company at key industry events. When traveling, the role will be based at the company's headquarters in St. Louis, Michigan.

Who we are looking for:
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment (rotational molding experience is a plus)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage with clients at all levels
  • Ability to understand and articulate complex technical concepts related to rotational molding processes and products
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales reporting tools
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel overnight
  • Willingness to work onsite at times

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
  • 4+ years of sales experience, preferably within the manufacturing or industrial sector

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to travel extensively to meet with clients and attend trade shows
• Ability to interact with customers and production teams effectively
