Not just looking for a Cobol developer. need someone that can tak initiative. This role will be key in helping the interfaces team be successful.
Looking for sharp, quick, and fairly independent contractor that is able to reverse engineer the existing COBOL code.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 3-4 years' experience working with Control M, TSO, File Manager, and Fault Analyzer.
- 8+ years' experience with DB2, JCL, COBOL, CICS, ChangeMan and Easytrieve
- Proficient with the SDLC
- Good communication skills, ability to work in a team environment, displays professionalism at all times
- Ability to drive projects to completion with minimal direction
- Knowledge of Healthcare, Human Services, or a related business preferable
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interacts with the business user's, DBA's, and system administrator's to gather requirements, develop design, and code to system specifications ensuring all requirements have been met.
Performs analysis and creates design for workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other applications, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
Analyze existing system functionality and programs and create design documentation; ability to reverse engineer.
Unit tests and debugs computer programs to ensure a quality product is delivered to the end users for testing and ultimately delivered to the production environment.
Supports end users in the SIT and UAT phases of the project.
Modifies existing programs to conform to application changes or to make improvements in the existing program.
Monitors performance of programs after implementation
Holds on call phone on a rotating basis to support production batch; resolves batch issues in conjunction with the States Operations Support organization.
