Job description

  • Expected pay for this position is $16.87-$22.78. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

  • Job Summary
    • Plans, sets up and/or serves catered events. Keeps an organized calendar of all catered events. Prepares salads, desserts, drinks and other food items for catered events. Operates dish machine when needed (holiday rotation). Cleans and prepares produces, makes produce list for weekly order, accepts and puts produce away when delivered. Plans and sets up breakfast and yogurt bar and salad bar for cafeteria. Maintains stock for doctor's lounges, coin café and administration offices. Cleaning duties as specified to job title. Must have food handler's license, prefer sanitation management license. Performs other assignments as required or requested in food service department.
  • Job Specifications
    • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED preferred.
    • JOB KNOWLEDGE:
      • Performs prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and weeding fruits and vegetables. Weighs and measures designated ingredients.
      • Carries pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards. Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
      • Stores foods in designated areas in accordance with wrapping, dating, and food safety and rotation procedures.
      • Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils.
      • Ensures compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
      • Uses approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
      • Serves customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
      • Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly, service oriented manner.
      • Relays relevant information to supervisor.
      • Replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining services area cleanliness.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • ABILITIES, INTERESTS AND TEMPERAMENTS:
      • Ability to read, speak, write and follow written and oral instructions.
      • Manual dexterity and motor coordination are necessary for efficient use of kitchen utensils and equipment.
      • Interest in learning new techniques for improved service.
      • Willingness to work in a team concept environment.
      • Service attitude is an expectation.
      • Must have the ability to work with a variety of patients of all populations (e.g. developmentally appropriate care, cultural diversity, patients with pain, victims of abuse or neglect, and diagnosis or procedure specific such as patient with congestive heart failure or cesarean delivery).
