About The Opportunity
The Backup Die Cut Operator is responsible for all aspects of setting up, operating, inspecting and maintaining a die cutter machine in order to produce quality product safely and efficiently.
Essential Functions:
โ€ข Demonstrates commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
โ€ข Demonstrates commitment to quality and performs job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines.
โ€ข Should be aware of their responsibilities and their accountability is clearly defined for key staff involved with product safety, legality, and quality systems.
โ€ข Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements.
โ€ข Determine the best manufacturing method to produce product efficiently and effectively.
โ€ข Set-up diecutter & tooling and operate die cutter.
โ€ข Be able to assist other operators on 2 person make readies.
โ€ข Maintain accurate counts (load and total counts).
โ€ข Be able to run baler and change bales as needed.
โ€ข Setup and make-ready of diecut, score, stripping, & blanking tooling if required.
โ€ข Maintain supplies for department.
โ€ข Pull stock for job -- wind and jog stock if needed.
โ€ข Be able to operate powered pallet equipment.
โ€ข Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment.
โ€ข Maintain quality of product produced by monitoring diecutting and creasing and stripping of waste.
โ€ข Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product.
โ€ข Complete required quality inspections and paperwork.
โ€ข Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
โ€ข Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding area.
โ€ข Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements.
โ€ข Work throughout diecutting department running equipment as needed.
โ€ข Actively participates in Lean manufacturing initiatives.
โ€ข Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Shift: 2nd shift
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent desired but not required.
  • Previous Die Cut experience desired

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed
  • Ability to effectively work in teams
  • Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
