Job Title: Interact Club Advisor
Position Type: Supplemental / Extracurricular Assignment
Approximate Start Date: August 2026
Compensation: $4,000 -  In accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement 


Position Summary
The Greater Latrobe School District is seeking a motivated and student-centered Interact Club Advisor to lead and support a high school service organization affiliated with Rotary International. The advisor will facilitate student-led community service initiatives, promote leadership development, and foster a culture of civic responsibility and global awareness. The successful candidate will collaborate with local Rotary partners, school staff, and community organizations to provide meaningful service opportunities for students.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Organize, supervise, and facilitate regular Interact Club meetings in alignment with school policies and Rotary guidelines.
  • Guide students in planning, implementing, and evaluating community service projects at the local and global levels.
  • Foster student leadership by supporting officer roles, goal setting, and organizational management of club activities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the school and the sponsoring Rotary Club, including attending joint meetings or events as appropriate.
  • Ensure all club activities comply with district policies, including student supervision, safety protocols, and required clearances.
  • Coordinate logistics for service projects, including transportation requests, facility use, and communication with community partners.
  • Promote the Interact Club within the school to encourage student participation.
  • Maintain accurate records of meetings, service hours, activities, and student participation.
  • Oversee any fundraising activities in accordance with district policies and applicable regulations.
  • Communicate regularly with students, families, administration, and Rotary representatives regarding club activities and expectations.
  • Support student reflection on service experiences to deepen learning and civic engagement.
  • Perform additional duties related to the successful operation of the club as assigned by the building principal.
