ROSENBAUER STATEMENT

As the world's largest manufacturer of fire equipment, we make sure our vehicles, production teams, and service personnel are ready to do what is necessary to keep communities safe.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Saw Operator operates the aluminum upcut saw and band saw to provide job packages to the fabrication department. This position requires the lifting of metal parts and pieces onto the saw to make necessary cuts. Attention to detail will be required to ensure accuracy in job performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer's Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

  1. Lifts metal sheets, parts, and pieces into machines to make required cuts.
  2. Reads and understands body prints and a tape measure.
  3. Monitors inventory levels of metal parts to prevent shortages.
  4. Regularly cleans and performs maintenance on saws.
  5. Ensures that cuts meet angle grade and other specifications of the build.
  6. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the company and our members.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Strong mechanical and technical ability required.
  • Saw operation in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Previous experience reading a tape measure preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.
  • Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions.

Math:

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer:

  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SolidWorks, and Adobe/PDFs.
  • Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process and/or troubleshoot.
