Our Emergency Vehicle Mechanics are a critical part of keeping our customersโ€™ vehicles on the road and operating safely.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Vehicle Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair fire trucks and emergency apparatus. This role is essential in ensuring our customersโ€™ vehicles operate safely and reliably. Ideal candidates have strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, preventive service, and inspections on fire trucks and emergency vehicles
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and testing equipment
  • Repair engines, transmissions, drivetrains, braking, steering, and suspension systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair wiring, lighting, sirens, and other electrical components
  • Service and repair hydraulic systems including pumps, valves, and aerial ladder systems
  • Document all work performed, parts used, and inspection findings accurately
  • Maintain shop organization, tools, and equipment
  • Order or request necessary replacement parts when needed
  • Follow all safety procedures and environmental regulations
  • Participate in ongoing training and support junior technicians when needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or certifications preferred
  • Previous experience as a Emergency Vehicle Mechanic or heavy-duty truck technician
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to use diagnostic software, meters, and testing tools
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift, bend, climb, and work in tight spaces as needed
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with a clean driving record

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Requires standing, bending, and climbing in and around vehicles for extended periods.
  • Work performed in a shop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and varying temperatures
  • Frequent use of diagnostic equipment, power tools, and hand tools.
