Technical Support Representative - Loose Equipment

POSITION SUMMARY

The Technical Service Representative - Loose Equipment is responsible for processing warranty claims, providing high-level technical support, and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of Rosenbauer's full equipment portfolio, including portable pumps, robots, BEST systems, and other firefighting tools. This role supports both internal teams and field customers, ensuring timely resolution of product issues and exceptional post-sales support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer's Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

  1. Process warranty claims for Rosenbauer equipment, ensuring accuracy, documentation completeness, and timely resolution.
  2. Provide technical troubleshooting support for all Rosenbauer equipment, including pumps, robots, electronic systems, and specialty tools.
  3. Maintain comprehensive product knowledge to support field sales and end users.
  4. Serve as the primary technical contact for Rosenbauer equipment inquiries and escalations.
  5. Collaborate with the Director of Firefighting and Body Components to support product launches, updates, and field training needs.
  6. Document all technical interactions, resolutions, and customer feedback within established systems.
  7. Support dealers and customers through phone, email, ticketing systems, and on-site visits as required.
  8. Travel to customer locations, tradeshows, and Rosenbauer facilities to provide hands-on support or training.
  9. Assist with the identification and escalation of recurring product issues to engineering and product teams.
  10. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the supervisor to meet the needs of the department.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’S): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

(K) nowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • Associate degree in automotive or diesel mechanics preferred.
  • EVT certification preferred.
  • CDL certification preferred.
  • Experience working with electrical systems on vehicles preferred.
  • 1+ years of sales or customer service experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience working in a similar role preferred.

Language:

  • Able to find, read, and interpret relevant business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Able to write reports and business correspondence in a professional manner.
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions and communicate new information that could affect project trajectories.

Math:

  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Computer:

  • Able to perform intermediate PC functions in Microsoft Office Suite and MAS 500.
