POSITION SUMMARY

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist will receive and verify all incoming and outgoing ground shipments and loads/unloads all shipping and receiving items. They will organize warehouse inventory and distribute it among the Rosenbauer campus accordingly. Also, they will operate and maneuver a forklift in order to complete all Materials department tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer's Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

  1. Packs parts for shipment, including palletizing or crating of parts.
  2. Receives and verifies all incoming and outgoing ground shipments and loads/unloads all shipping and receiving items.
  3. Organizes warehouse inventory and distributes among the Rosenbauer campus accordingly by pulling parts to support assembly needs.
  4. Operates and maneuvers a forklift to complete all Materials department tasks.
  5. Creates commercial documents for imports and exports.
  6. Verifies all shipments through documentation and inspects any incoming deliveries for damages.
  7. Answers phone calls from other departments and vendors to maintain strong communication through shipping and receiving processes.
  8. Works with returns department in sending unused parts back to vendors for credit and maintains inventory of non-returnable parts for possible future use.
  9. Will support the service department by making sure parts arrive next day for service technicians needs onsite with clients.
  10. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company.

Hand tools, power tools, Sawzall, drill, hammer, prybar, bander- metal/cloth, and ratchet straps.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA's): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Previous experience operating a forklift preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a forklift certification required.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a shipping and receiving function preferred.

  • Able to read blueprints and work from spec books.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Math:

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer:

  • Able to perform simple tasks, such as creating an email and using basic commands. Use of Microsoft office suite (excel, word, etc.), and adobe for viewing prints.

  • Able to communicate progress of projects to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
  • Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
