Summary:
Under general direction of a principal, provides leadership in an educational environment that encourages and nurtures learning for all students. Provides supervision to students in a variety of school related settings, monitors and evaluates student outcomes, develops, selects or modifies lesson plans to ensure all student needs are met, and maintains appropriate records and follows all policies and procedures of NCDPI and PCS. Provides quality standards-based instruction in the area of Business Education and Information Technology Education; assesses and encourages student progress, manages an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement.
Essential Duties
• Plan, organize, and teach a competency-based CTE program in Business Education and Information Technology (IT) curriculums.
• Basic coding experience preferred in Java, Python, SQL, or block based coding (SNAP/Scratch).
• Basic experience preferred in fundamentals of IT troubleshooting, and PC hardware and software.
• Ability to utilize online industry resources such as Microsoft Imagine Academy or CompTIA to offer certifications to students in a variety of IT disciplines.
• Demonstrate effective classroom and computer lab management
• Assist in coordination of CTE Student Organization activities for local, regional, state and/or national competition
• Participates in field trips to post-secondary institutes, worksites, businesses and hands-on workshops
• Assist in development of and participate in activities designed to promote an innovative business and technology program
• Develop community and industry partnerships for students
