Job description

Position: Data Analyst

Duration: 12+ Months

Location: Atlanta, GA


Role Summary:

The Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing, sourcing, profiling, and validating data required for banking regulatory reporting solutions, including Axiom reporting platforms and reports such as Call Reports and FR Y-9C. This role works closely with Regulatory Reporting, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Business, and Technology teams to gather requirements, define data sourcing and mapping rules, and ensure accurate regulatory reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong banking domain knowledge, advanced SQL and data analysis skills, and experience performing data profiling, reconciliation, impact analysis, and root cause investigation within data warehouse and regulatory reporting environments. The role also supports testing, production validation, regulatory compliance, and ongoing reporting enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze regulatory reporting requirements for reports such as Call Reports, FR Y-9C, and other banking regulatory submissions, and identify required data sourcing, transformations, and business rules.
  • Perform detailed analysis of banking source systems to understand data structures, data relationships, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Utilize SQL extensively for data analysis, profiling, validation, reconciliation, and investigation of data quality issues.
  • Develop and maintain source-to-target mappings, data lineage, data definitions, and business rule documentation for regulatory reporting solutions.
  • Conduct data profiling to assess data quality, completeness, accuracy, and integrity, and identify data anomalies and gaps.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory Reporting, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Business, and Technology teams to gather and clarify reporting requirements.
  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into detailed data sourcing specifications, mapping documents, and functional requirements.
  • Analyze and resolve data discrepancies, reconciliation breaks, and reporting issues through root cause analysis and data investigation.
  • Perform impact analysis for source system changes, business rule modifications, and regulatory reporting enhancements to ensure downstream reporting accuracy.
  • Support testing, UAT, production validation, and monthly release activities to ensure accurate and compliant regulatory report submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, audit, and regulatory requirements by maintaining comprehensive documentation, controls, and supporting examination requests.

Preferred Experience

  • Strong banking domain knowledge, including Loans, Deposits, Customer, General Ledger, Treasury, Risk, and Financial Reporting data.
  • Hands-on experience with Axiom Data Sourcing and Regulatory Reporting.
  • Experience supporting regulatory reports such as Call Report (FFIEC 031/041), FR Y-9C, FR Y-14, and other U.S. Banking Regulatory Reports.
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience in data profiling, data validation, reconciliation, data quality analysis, and root cause investigation in Data Warehouse and Regulatory Reporting environments.
