Job Overview
The Technical Communications Business Analyst improves business success and objectives by enhancing programs, systems, and processes through root cause analysis (RCA) and project management of solutions. This change-management role is crucial in supporting future global initiatives and improving tech comm efficiency and impact. This includes developing reporting systems, identifying and automating manual business processes within the tech comm organization, and supporting system application rollouts.
Key Job Responsibilities
Collaboration: Work with the management team to identify objectives and roadmapping. Work with Komatsu business groups such as Digital Solutions, ICT, Aftermarket, and Service for root cause analysis, business case development, and project management. Work with the techcomm writing teams to understand business processes and formulate them into business requirements and solutioning. Work with suppliers and potential vendors for consulting and solutioning.
Information Development: Perform root cause analysis, business and system, for technical communication as required to discover and implement solutions. Develop operating procedures for new systems and processes. Research and validate requirements through root cause analysis and goal identification.
Project Management: Lead and support multiple projects from start to completion. Utilize project management strategies and tools to ensure milestones, releases, and sign off. Validate project success through testing, operating procedures, and formal training.+
Leadership: Lead department and global projects impacting technical communication systems and processes including SBOM and content delivery portals. Lead and mentor team members on project management to improve collaboration and success.
Technology Integration: Build reporting systems leveraging Power apps/BI for metric and KPI monitoring. Maintain and enhance power app techcomm solutions.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's or 5 years related work/military/education experience
• Strong project management skills that keep projects on track, countermeasure for project delays, and drive success
• Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis and system knowledge.
• Possibly 5-20% travel for Gemba with customers or distributors; industry specific seminars/training; departmental training or meetings.
• Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with the team, IT and other Komatsu teams, suppliers and vendors.
• Strong technical aptitude for computer systems and automation tools
• Experience in data reporting, data analysis tools and techniques (PowerApps, BI, etc)
• Experience with integrations across different platforms
Preferred Skills:
• Experience in building requirement definitions, user stories, and UAT testing of system releases
• Business case development and presentation skills, explaining complex projects with simple visualization and clarity
• Commitment to staying updated with technology and best practices
• Commitment to continuous learning and understanding internal requirements and customer needs, and identifying solutions to bridge the gap.
