UPMC Presbyterian is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist Advanced to join our MRI team at the Rooney Sports Complex! This unique opportunity supports the Rooney Sports Medicine outpatient clinic, providing advanced imaging services to athletes and active individuals in a dynamic sports medicine environment.

Enjoy a schedule of three 13-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 8:00 PM) per week, with a weekend rotation and just two holidays annually at UPMC Presbyterian.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
  • Demonstrates complete operation of specialty equipment, analyzes data promptly, and completes quality control activities.
  • Assist with the training of staff and students.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.
  • Performs all job responsibilities of Level I MRI Technologist including practices and maintains MR safety in the department, addresses patient safety through proper patient identification, labeling/preparation/and administration of contrast and communicating according to standard operating procedures, completes procedures according to protocol while presenting relevant information to physician, and updates and documents patient information into rad assessment.
  • Promptly responds to medical editing requests.
  • Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.
  • Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
  • Completion of formal training in MRI-related program accredited by the ARRT or ARMRIT. 
  • 2 years MRI experience required. 
  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
     
  • ARRT MR or ARMRIT Certified. 
  • CPR or BLS Required. 
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
  • ARRT Certificate OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
