The Office of the Queens County District Attorney (QDA) is currently seeking an Assistant to provide a variety of support services for our Record Room including scanning and copying documents, and transporting files and other records between the District Attorney's multiple office locations, as well as to external locations, throughout the five boroughs.

The Record Room Assistant will perform the following job functions including, but not limited to:

1. Picking up and delivering case files and other documents from QDA staff for processing and sorting.

2. Performing a variety of clerical tasks including scanning, data entry, filing, copying, sending emails and other office related tasks, as needed.

3. Transporting case files and other documents between QDA offices, storage facilities and other locations throughout the five boroughs while using public transportation or a QDA vehicle.

4. Locating delivery recipients using QDA personnel directories, as well as publicly available maps and transportation information for navigating to external delivery sites.

5. Maintaining the confidential nature of important materials during delivery and adhering to QDA policies, procedures and schedules.
Preferred Education and Qualification Requirements:

High school graduation (or its educational equivalent) or a satisfactory equivalent in work experience required.

Must be a self-motivated and responsible individual with the ability to successfully navigate to locations across the five boroughs by vehicle and/or public transportation. The ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. or more and to assist in moving items over 50 lbs. with assistance is required. Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software, good oral communication skills is preferred. The position may require moving between locations and wait for extended periods in varying weather conditions. A valid NYS driver license and clean driving record are required for assignments requiring the operation of a QDA vehicle.

Preferred Skills:

  • Candidates with a valid NYS driver license and clean driving record, familiarity with postal regulations and mailing procedures and/or previous messenger experience.

Salary: $42,000
The Record Room Assistant will generally work Monday through Friday from 8 AM - 4 PM, but in certain instances, schedule changes and/or overtime hours maybe required in order to complete required tasks.
