The Office of the Queens County District Attorney (QDA) is currently seeking a Receptionist to provide a variety of clerical duties including, but not limited to:

1. Answering telephone calls and in-person inquiries from members of the public, victims, complainants, attorneys, police officers and other QDA staff.
2. Communicating with callers to determine where calls should be routed and/or taking complete and accurate messages.
3. Greeting visitors and verifying appointments.
4. Directing visitors to appropriate locations throughout QDA's office facilities, as well as to other court and related locations.
5. Assisting with other clerical duties as assigned.
   

Preferred Education and Experience:
Qualified candidates will have at least a high school diploma (or its educational equivalent) and must have the ability to multi-task, strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate in an efficient and concise manner, strong customer service practices and excellent interpersonal skills. Knowledge of computers, email and familiarity with filing is a plus. Applicants must be able to regularly work Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, however, in some instances schedule changes and/or overtime may be required to complete certain tasks.

Strong preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in customer service, answering telephones, data entry into computerized systems, handling documents of sensitive nature (filing, delivering, scanning, etc.), or the ability to fluently speak and/or write in Spanish.
