Job Description
This position is primarily responsible for the daily operation of athletic laundry services and the distribution of apparel and equipment to assigned athletic teams. The role works closely with the Head Equipment Manager, equipment staff, and team coaches to ensure timely collection, laundering, organization, and delivery of practice and game-day apparel. Responsibilities include maintaining laundry schedules, monitoring equipment room inventory levels for daily team needs, assisting with equipment room organization, and supporting the overall operational needs of Syracuse Athletics.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Two (2) plus years equivalent combination of equipment room experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations with practical, hands-on experience in applying Division I regulations is recommended.
  • Athletic Equipment Manager Certification Preferred.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Ability to perform detailed work with accuracy under deadline pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
  • Working knowledge of basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database functions. Proficient in computer applications relative to the inventory control.
  • Familiarity with all types of equipment, uniforms, and gear.
  • Must possess the ability to multi-task and meet project deadlines and work under time constraint pressures.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily monitoring, inventory and tracking of all issued equipment/apparel to assigned teams.
  • Keep up the laundry and process on a daily and weekend base
  • Ensuring student-athlete safety and welfare with respect for equipment through vendor and manufacturing contacts. Knowledge of the safest and technological equipment.
  • Ensuring the athletic department is in compliance with NCAA regulations with respect to equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Equipment Manager.
