SUMMARY: 

TST Roofing has been providing great customer service and quality in commercial roofing in Virginia for close to a decade. We are leaders in the industry with a proven process for success. We are seeking a dependable and experienced Roofer/Roofing Skilled Laborer to join our team. This role involves assisting in the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems on commercial buildings. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and the ability to work efficiently in various weather conditions.


Our search is currently limited to qualified candidates living within the Hampton Roads commuting area.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN COMMERCIAL ROOFING.
  • Working knowledge of commercial/industrial roofing procedures and safety.
  • Assist Roofers and Foremen on commercial roofing projects.
  • Work includes the installation of new roofs and re-roof and/or repair of existing roofs in occupied buildings for all major roofing systems, including Modified Bitumen, Single-Ply & Metal. Knowledge of these systems is required for skilled roofers/sheet metal mechanics, and helpful but not required for laborers.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools of all types as needed.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks daily with strong attention to detail.
  • Must not be afraid of heights.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs., and have the ability for repeated bending, climbing, kneeling.
  • Must not be afraid of heights.
  • Must be able to work in a COLD or HOT environment.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Perform work in accordance with job specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

POSITION SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

SALARY:

  • Range: $28 - $40/hr
  • Negotiable – depending on experience
  • Paid Weekly on Fridays (Mon thru Sun Work Week) w/ paystubs emailed.

  • Health, Dental & Vision Insurance - Eligible after 30 Days, enrolled on 1st of month - 50% of employee rate paid for employee for Health & Dental only.
  • 401(k) – w/ employer matches up to 3% of annual income after (1) year of employment.
  • Paid Time Off (8 Days) – New Year, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, & Christmas + 2 additional days, usually utilized at Christmas and Thanksgiving
  • Earned Leave (Vacation/Sick) – 80 Total Hours Accrued Annually
    • Vacation (24 hours annually, accrued at 0.47 hours a week) – never expires, but caps at 24 hours.
    • Sick (up to 56 hours annually, accrued at 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked) – never expires, but caps at 56 hours.
  • Voluntary supplemental insurance options are available to employees at their own expense.
  • Voluntary life insurance is available to employees at their own expense.
