Job Description/Summary

We currently have a lot of work in the Surrounding VA areas and are looking for experience Paving Roller Operators to join our company. This is a permanent role. If you are interested, please apply and we will reach out right away!

Position Summary:
The Paving Roller Operator is responsible for operating compaction equipment to achieve proper density and smoothness of asphalt surfaces on heavy civil and highway construction projects. This role works closely with paving crews to ensure quality, safety, and production goals are met.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate steel drum and pneumatic rollers to compact asphalt to specified density and finish standards
  • Follow rolling patterns and procedures as directed by the foreman or superintendent
  • Coordinate with paving crew, screed operators, and truck drivers to maintain efficient workflow
  • Monitor mat temperature, thickness, and compaction to ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Perform breakdown, intermediate, and finish rolling as required
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections, including fluid levels, drums, and safety systems
  • Identify and report equipment issues or maintenance needs promptly
  • Maintain consistent rolling speed and vibration settings based on material and conditions
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, including traffic control and work zone safety standards
  • Assist with general labor duties when needed to support the crew


Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience operating rollers in asphalt paving, preferably on highway or heavy civil projects
  • Strong understanding of asphalt compaction techniques and rolling patterns
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding outdoor environment
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends as needed


Preferred Qualifications:
