Job description

Deliver clean linens and to collect pre-bagged soiled linens to/from all specified areas within the assigned

facilities. To prepared pre-bagged soiled lines for return to HCL plant. To accurate record order tickets/ HCL

“Take-Up and Return” form and inventory. To provide customer service in person and via hospital linen room

telephone.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Based on HCL policies and procedures, the essential job functions of this job include:

· Delivers all linen exchange carts to each linen use area, according to a pre-set facility delivery schedule

(time/route).

· Returns unused linen/items from previous day’s stock cart from all linen use areas back to facilities’ linen

room.

· Accurate record all unused linen/items using HCL electronic device.

· Stocks to par levels all ancillary linen area daily or on a pre-set schedule. (Areas which do not receive

exchange carts)

· Places bulk linen orders daily in a timely manner.

· Cancels carts and general linens when appropriate.

· Records excess of linen in facility and returns to HCL plant.

· Answers all calls to the hospital linen room telephone. Checks the linen room telephone voice mail every

20 minutes, promptly returns calls and responds to the requests.

· Accurate record data entry and HCL daily call log when appropriate.

· Follows HCL attendance guidelines.

· Performs related duties as assigned or necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Must, after proper training, be able to demonstrate skills in performing assigned duties.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to

successfully perform the essential job functions of this job.

· Must be able to pull 10-20 pounds.

· Must be able to push carts up to/over 100 plus pounds. (utilizing the buddy system)

· Must be able to move rolling carts up to 250 pounds.

· Must be able to lift weights up to 40 pounds.

· Required to twist repeatedly.

· Must be able to bend constantly. (no lifting table)

· Must be able to reach and grip repeatedly.

· Must be able to stand entire shift (8 or 10 hours shift).
