Job description

The YMCA of Central Texas is seeking talented and creative individuals to join our team of passionate professionals as an eSports Coach at our branch in Round Rock, Texas and in elementary schools throughout Round Rock ISD.

Under the direction of the eSports Administrator, eSports Coaches will facilitate eSports programming throughout the Association and through scholastic partnerships in our community.

eSports Coaches will ensure every user has an exceptional gaming experience!

Available Shifts: We are looking for school year coaches Tuesday/Thursday afternoons 12:45pm-4:30pm at Blackland Prairie

Role and responsibilities:

  • Assist and lead camp teaching sessions
  • Helping participants improve through kindness and encouragement
  • Lead homeschool enrichment program sessions
  • Supervise youth during camps and other activities
  • Lead league sessions at schools (with a school staff member)
  • Help to organize and moderate tournaments
  • Maintain eSports equipment and areas
  • Coaches will promote good sportsmanship and ensure a positive environment for participants
  • Host birthday parties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Seeking individuals with knowledge and competitive experience in Rocket League, Minecraft, and/or Smash Bros
  • Champ+ rank Rocket League players preferred
  • Rocket League coaches must be able to teach individual mechanics such as aerial touches, car control, ball control, and team rotations/decision making
  • Smash tournament experience preferred
  • Smash players should be able to teach movement mechanics, neutral game, opportunity game, character matchups, character specific combos, and decision making

Pay Rate: $16.00 to $19.00/hour
