 As a Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech with CommonSpirit Health you will:


Works under the supervision of the surgeon and RN.
Assist surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed.
Assist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.

Day to Day duties:

  • Scrub on all cases.
  • Ortho heavy Dept. totals/trauma/ sports Medicine. Spine, Ortho Spine w/navigation (STEALTH,7D), Podiatry, Plastics, Endo, Cysto, Urology, GI, Robotics (DaVinci XI/MAKO, ROSA), Gen, ENT, Hands GYN, Urology.
  • Associates are cross trained for all services, no specialized service Teams.
    Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.
    Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day’s cases.
    Maintain Sterile field during procedures.
    Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon’s needs.
    Maintaining and updating preference cards.


10 OR Suites +1 Cysto Room+1minor procedure room

Approx. 600-700+ cases per month

Schedule:36hrs/ week-2x 12-hour shifts- Saturday and Sunday + additional day during the week TBD during interviews with OR manager. 

No Call Required 

Additional $10/hr weekend option differential applies for Saturday and Sunday shifts. The role requires a six-month commitment to the weekend option.

Please note: weekend-option based position- six month commitment to weekend schedule required.

Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • Basic Computer skills required.
  • Two years of experience in a surgical setting required.
  • Experience in a specialty field preferred.
  • HS Diploma/GED required
  • Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required
  • BLS from the American Heart Association required
  • Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado. * A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech required
  • Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required

Physical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
