Job description
The Industrial Maintenance / Robotics Instructor is responsible for delivering classroom and lab instruction in Robotics, Automation, Programming, Computer Aided Design, and related Industrial Maintenance courses. This position supports student learning through technical instruction, demonstration, lab projects, troubleshooting activities, and practical skill development.
The primary instructional need for this position is coverage of Foundation Programming, Computer Aided Design, and Advanced Programming. The instructor may also support additional Industrial Maintenance and Robotics courses based on program schedule needs, including Programmable Logic Controllers, Instrumentation and Control, Industrial Robotics, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, and Mechanical Systems & Maintenance.
This position is full-time and requires an 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday. The primary schedule need is evening coverage because Robotics and Automation courses are scheduled during the 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM session. Flexibility is required to support other Industrial Maintenance courses on morning, afternoon, or evening shifts based on program needs.

Education/Experience
- Related education, training, certification, or field experience in robotics, automation, mechatronics, programming, computer-aided design, industrial controls, industrial maintenance, or a closely related technical field is required.
- The candidate must be able to teach the following required Robotics and Automation courses:
- Foundation Programming
- Computer Aided Design
- Advanced Programming
- Mechatronics experience is preferred.
- Programmable Logic Control experience is preferred.
- C programming experience is preferred.
- Autodesk Inventor experience is preferred.
- Industrial robotics or robotic programming experience is preferred.
- Industrial automation, vision systems, system integration, or industrial communication experience is preferred.
- Hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, or industrial maintenance experience is a plus.
- Teaching, training, coaching, or mentoring experience is a plus.
Skills
- Ability to instruct students of various ages and diverse backgrounds.
- Able to work productively and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.

- Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications. Word and Excel are required.

- Ability to teach advanced programming concepts related to industrial robotics, autonomous systems, robot guidance, inspection, vision systems, equipment interface, and system communication.
- Ability to demonstrate safe and correct use of lab tools, software, robotics systems, automation trainers, and related industrial equipment.
- Ability to evaluate student performance through tests, lab projects, practical assignments, and skill demonstrations.
Abilities
Must be able to instruct two consecutive courses per workday; number of hours will vary based on campus location and program.
Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds for short periods of time during the workday.
Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for short periods of time during the workday.
Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn, and reason for all the workday.
Must be able to sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
Must be able to prepare students for course outcomes through lecture, demonstration, practice, feedback, and assessment.
Must be able to maintain accurate attendance, grade, and course completion records.
Must be able to support lab setup, equipment readiness, and basic care of instructional equipment.
Must be able to participate in instructor onboarding, course certification, cross-training, and professional development.
Must be able to support additional Industrial Maintenance or Robotics courses as qualified and assigned.
Working Conditions
Majority of time spent in education environment.
Work will consist of an 8-hour day, with approximately 75% teaching and 25% administration.
Appropriate safety measures must be followed.
Exposure to chemicals that are standard to the industry.
