BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and driven Software or Computer Engineering Co-op for 2026 to work with a talented team supporting the development, test, integration and verification of modern combat vehicles.
This role is located at our Combat Missions Systems facility in Sterling Heights, MI. This is a full-time opportunity working 40hrs a week.

As a Software or Computer Engineering Co-op:
  • Hands-on systems integration and test of complex electronic and electro-mechanical systems in both software labs and on tactical military hardware or vehicles
  • Development of integration, verification, and validation planning documentation of integration and test plans, procedures, reports, status reports, and other related documentation for new software releases in a software lab environment and on tactical vehicles
  • Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, performance, and quality requirements
  • Perform non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis and repair of test and tactical systems using commonly used test equipment

Required Skills and Education
  • MUST BE A CURRENT STUDENT at KETTERING UNIVERSITY
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Robotics, Cybersecurity
  • Minimum of Sophomore standing
  • Programming experience in one or more of the following: C, C++, C#, Python, Java, Ada
  • Experience with computer and/or network troubleshooting
  • Basic knowledge of software development fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
