Job description

  • Job Summary:
    Model transmission and driveline mechanical systems to simulate powertrain/Battery endurance cycles to support performance and durability assessment for new vehicle development using MATLAB, Simulink, SimDriveline.
    • Develop virtual control system in Simulink environment to model torque arbitration logic in AWD systems; traction control mechanisms; transmission shift schedules for predicting duty cycles of powertrain components.
  • Support quality and reliability teams with global harmonization of endurance cycles. Analyzing and processing the data to generate duty cycles for powertrain components and estimating mechanical damage to optimize the drive cycles globally.
    • Experience in electrified propulsion systems with 0D / 1D modeling experience for xEV applications.
    • Interpret transmission cross sections to draw lever diagrams, power flow schematics and calculate element wise speeds and torques which are used as loads for performing finite element analysis.
    • Familiarity with GT Suite, AMESim and other system modeling tools ideal.
    • Automotive background and experience at OEM or supplier company is preferred. 3 to 5 years experience. Background/experience in basic statistical analysis and ability to analyze large data to draw conclusions is a plus.
