Job description

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team at Elemet Group. The Automation Engineer will design, develop, and implement automated systems and processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality in our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and hold automation team accountable to company policies and procedures
  • Program robot controllers, end-of-arm tools, vision systems and/or conveyors
  • Monitor machine OEE and partner with Production leadership to increase machine run time
  • Develop robotic path motions to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality
  • Ability to troubleshoot robotic systems using knowledge of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor, or feedback systems using hydraulic, pneumatics, and electrical systems
  • Perform preventative or corrective maintenance on robotic systems or components.
  • Maintain manufacturing robots in good working order to maximize productivity
  • Provide automation support to production
  • Develop and improve automation processes
  • Develop and implement of process control procedures for automation
  • Determine proper cell layout/robot placement including peripheral equipment
  • Participate in the automation acceptance phase to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Develop three-dimensional simulations of automation systems with use of SolidWorks
  • Oversee building moves, building layouts, and project management moves
  • Attend project and product development meetings
  • Provide in-house training documents; prepare reports, flow diagrams and charts. Prepare specifications and standard operating instructions for processes and equipment
  • Installation, production startup, and validation of automation systems
  • Assure reliability of equipment and to repair equipment in a safe, effective, and efficient manner
  • Strive to elevate operational uptime through preventative and predictive maintenance activities with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Robotics, Automation or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 5+ years’ previous experience of control/instrumentation in manufacturing.
  • Experience with Fanuc controls.
  • Ability to travel, up to 10% to other facilities as needed.

  • Knowledge of electrical wiring systems and installations.
  • Strong computer and fabrication skills.

The expected base pay range for this position is between $80,000 and $120,000 per annual. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
