Position Summary:  

The Automation Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining automated equipment and implementing new automation opportunities that will have a significant impact on safety, cost, and quality. 


  • Work with internal customers on maintaining and troubleshooting all operating company automation systems
  • Utilize electrical, mechanical, and controls automation skills to enhance automation systems
  • Lead aspects of automation projects including design and implementation to assure projects are completed on schedule
  • Train the workforce on new technology and automation systems
  • Create and document new processes
  • Monitor performance and utilization of automation process implementations
  • Support capital expenditure requests and implementations
  • Drive cross-company collaboration using similar automation equipment
  • Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
  • Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work
  • Partner with other business segments:  sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance
  • Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve
  • Ensure business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning properly

  • Associates Degree in robotics, automation, controls, or a related field, or relevant experience
  • 1 year working with automation systems integration
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks/projects
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Must be a self-starter, team player, and have a positive attitude
  • Ability to think creatively, drive results and stay focused on daily tasks
  • Proficient in Computer Design Tools such as SolidWorks
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritze and multitask
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

Desirable Criteria and Qualifications

  • Familiar with Human Machine Interface (HMI), motion control systems, Programmable Logic Controllers 
  • Familiar with vision systems (Keyence, Cognex)
  • Familiar with programming languages (Python, C++, Visual Basic, etc…)
  • Familiar with various sensors/actuators (ITI, SMC, Robotiq)
  • Familiar with Robotics (Fanuc, Yushin, Epson, UR, Collaborative Robots)
  • Continuing Education; including participation in local chapters, associations, and/or organizations

USD $29.81 - USD $44.71 /Hr.

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full hiring range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.


All Employees:

20+hours:
