What is robotic surgery sales?

Robotic surgery sales is a specialized field within medical device sales that focuses on selling robotic surgical systems and related products to hospitals, surgical centers, and healthcare professionals. Sales representatives in this area work closely with surgeons, operating room staff, and hospital administrators to demonstrate the benefits of robotic surgery systems, provide training, and support the adoption of these advanced technologies. The role requires a deep understanding of both the technology and the clinical applications, as well as strong sales and relationship-building skills. Robotic surgery sales professionals often travel to meet clients, attend surgeries, and support installations of new systems.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a robotic surgery sales professional?

To thrive as a Robotic Surgery Sales professional, you need a strong background in medical device sales, clinical knowledge of surgical procedures, and typically a bachelor's degree in a related field. Familiarity with robotic surgical systems, CRM software, and relevant sales certifications such as Certified Medical Sales Professional (CMSP) are often required.
