Senior Data Engineer - Oracle Application DBA

The Role

Fidelity Investments is looking to hire a Senior Data Engineer - Oracle Application DBAprovidingfrontline Production support forourDevelopment, Test, and Production environments.This positionoffersyouthe opportunity tobe responsible forthe creation and ongoingsupport of database infrastructure for multiple Fidelity business units and development teams.Key database platforms required to be successful in this role willinclude but not be limited toOracle,SQLServerand Postgres.We are looking for top talent withstrong troubleshooting skills asa crucial skill forthis role.This role requiresthe participationinan on-call rotation.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Experience performingOracle19c database administration for high availability systems, within the financial services or similar industries.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technologyor related degree, or equivalent experience
  • Perform applications database administration (Oracle, Postgres, and SQL Server) services including SQL code review,databaseperformance analysisand optimization, query tuning, database application design, physical data modeling, development support &data engineering.
  • Proven analytical, data mapping, and problem-solving abilities with strong judgment, issues management and process analysis skills.
  • Proficiencyin SQL and PL/SQL language
  • Proven experience analyzingandimplementdatabase technology infrastructure solutions with minimal direction.
  • Technical curiosity to fix and resolve technical issues quickly.
  • Proficiencyin Scripting languages and Unix Shell Scripting. Basicproficiencyofprogramming languages (Python) is preferred.
  • Expertisewith Oracle Golden Gate, databasereplicationand data movement strategies & tools
  • Experience with 24/7 Production Enterprise support
  • Familiarity with Public Cloud environments, preferably AWS and Azure.
  • Experience with Oraclesystemas well as Application DBA support functions.
  • Resolve issues that arise in day-to-day management of RPA/UDA program and providetimelyresponses and solutions asrequired
  • Communicating at a business function level with technology personnel in both verbal and written communication
  • Collaborationwith developers, system administrators, andApplication support engineers,participatingin cross-functional teams and projects
  • Deepunderstanding of Oracle database connectivity (Sqlnet, listeners, scan listeners,tnsnames)
  • Advanced Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices including software configuration management, test automation, versioning.
  • Provide knowledge leadership for development teams in terms of scalabilityand database growth, making recommendations for hardware and software upgrades

As part of theAdvanced Process Solutions (APS)team you will work with teams thatdevelopssoftwarewhichsupportswork flowing through and between Fidelitybusiness units. Our software helpsmove work through Fidelity, providing a link between multiple coordinated applicationsthatservicesFidelity'scustomers..Ourteam manages the databases used for both developing and supporting the software forthe businessunits.
