Job description

We are hiring a Process Automation Account Manager to drive growth across Arizona and the northern United States.

In this role, you will develop strategic customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and support the delivery of automation, control, and digital optimization solutions for industrial clients. The position combines engineering knowledge, commercial judgement, and customer-facing execution: requiring someone who can understand operational challenges and translate them into clear, high-value technical solutions. You will serve as a trusted advisor to customers across engineering, operations, maintenance, and leadership teams, helping them improve performance, reliability, and scalability. This is a visible, high-impact role with meaningful ownership and strong growth potential within ECN Automation.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

1. Sales & Business Development

• Develop and execute account strategies to achieve revenue and margin targets.

• Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities.

• Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline tracking.

• Conduct customer visits, presentations, and solution discussions.

• Apply value-based and ROI-driven selling methodologies

2. Customer Relationship Management

• Build and maintain long-term relationships across all organizational levels (engineering, operations, procurement, and leadership).

• Conduct site walk-throughs to identify opportunities and assess installed base.

• Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts

3. Sales Enablement

• Align marketing content with ECN’s sales process stages—from trade show lead capture and initial qualification through proposal support and follow-up.

• Work with the sales team to identify content gaps that slow deals and prioritize creation of supporting materials.

• Support preparation of materials for trade shows, expos, and webinars, which remain important lead generation channels for ECN.

4. Technical Solution Development

• Understand customer processes and recommend automation solutions.

• Support proposal development and participate in solution design.

• Collaborate with vendors and internal engineering teams to develop solutions.

5. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Execution

• Work with internal sales teams, partners, and third-party providers to deliver integrated solutions.

• Support training initiatives to strengthen product and solution knowledge across the sales team.

• Provide market intelligence and competitive insights to leadership.

. Operational Excellence

• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.

• Maintain CRM accuracy and reporting discipline.

• Continuously improve sales strategies and customer engagement approaches.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field)

• 5+ years of experience in the automation industry

• Proven track record in technical sales or client-facing solution roles

• Experience with automation technologies (instrumentation, drives, control systems, software, networking)

• Strong understanding of mining and/or food & beverage processes

• Experience negotiating commercial contracts

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Technical Knowledge

• Industrial instrumentation and control systems

• Rockwell Automation products (preferred)

• Familiarity with various PLC, HMI, and SCADA control platforms

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics

Tools & Systems

• CRM platforms (e.g., Zoho)

• Microsoft Office / Office 365

• Collaboration tools (Outlook, SharePoint)

Key Competencies

• Problem-solving and analytical thinking

• Customer-focused mindset

• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

• Self-starter with a collaborative team attitude

Work Environment

• This role includes work in industrial environments such as mining, oil & gas, and manufacturing facilities. Conditions may include:

• Exposure to extreme weather and industrial environments
