Job description

RMS Mining Solutions is searching for a Shop Technician to join its team at its Hibbing, MN location. In this role, you will be responsible for performing rebuild and disassembly of equipment, components, and parts in our used mining equipment and parts division. With responsibility to maintain and perform the day-to-day shop needs. This position will also require experience and the ability to perform welding repair tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs, rebuild, disassembly, and assembly of mining equipment, components, and parts.
  • Perform inspections on components and parts to validate condition and usability.
  • Basic weld repairs and fabrication.
  • Perform repairs and rebuilds on large mining radiators.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Diesel Mechanic Degree preferred or 3+ years heavy equipment maintenance experience.
  • Proficient at welding and cutting.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings.
  • Safe operation of forklifts, cranes, equipment, etc.
  • Able to work responsibly, safely, and intelligently.
  • Have the desire to take action, improve, and be appreciative.
  • Possess the capability to engage with customers, co-workers, and vendors in a respectful manner.

Minimum Physical Requirements:

  • Push/pull up to 50 lbs
  • Lift/carry up to 60 lbs
  • Lift bulky objects
  • Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, high steps, fingering/grasping.
  • Working conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise levels may be loud at times.
