Position Overview

The Center for RNA Biology (CRB) Business Administrator supports the financial, operational, administrative, and programmatic functions of the Center. Reporting to and partnering with the CRB Director, this position coordinates business operations, supports research and training programs, administers budgets and financial transactions, and helps deliver events and initiatives that support the Center's mission.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a nationally recognized research center while gaining experience across financial administration, program management, event coordination, communications, and research support in a collaborative academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support financial and budgetary activities, including monitoring operating, development, grant, and other Center funds.
  • Coordinate fiscal transactions, including purchasing, travel reimbursements, procurement card activity, reconciliations, and budget transfers.
  • Administer Center programs, including seed grants, undergraduate research experiences, and graduate and postdoctoral fellowship programs.
  • Coordinate application, selection, onboarding, and membership processes for faculty, fellows, and Center members.
  • Plan and support seminars, lectures, symposia, faculty searches, and other Center-sponsored events and meetings.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the CRB Director and Center leadership.
  • Assist with communications, marketing, website updates, surveys, and production of the Center newsletter.
  • Gather and organize data to support reporting, strategic initiatives, and partnership development activities.
  • Represent the Center at university and external meetings and support engagement activities for the CRB student organization.
  • Respond to inquiries and ensure efficient day-to-day operations in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in business administration or related field.
  • Experience in program planning and administration.
  • 2 years of business experience in an administrative capacity.

Desired Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of University policies, rules and regulations.
  • 2 years knowledge of accounting principles and applications.

Additional Information:

Salary

The pay range for this job profile is $55,700.00 - $72,700.00. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on multiple factors including internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.

Work Location

This is a hybrid position, working on campus at least 3 days per week.
