Description

Malvern Behavioral Health is currently seeking a full time Registered Nurse to work at their new, state of the art facility in South Philadelphia. The current position available is a full time position, working 12 hour shifts, three days per week, with an every other weekend commitment. The daily schedule is 7:00am-7:30pm. This position offers full benefits and Malvern has recently increased the nursing shift differentials.

Malvern Behavioral Health focuses on key stressors that impact young adults, provides individualized treatment, and works with each person to develop proper support, skills, and education so they can thrive in everyday life. Key stressors that impact this age group include social media, screen time, gaming, difficulty transitioning into adulthood and substance abuse. Our trauma-informed and recovery-focused trained staff take great care to provide a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment.

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care as prescribed by the physician and treatment team. Provide medical management and assessment of patients. Ensure environmental safety and crisis management for the patient population. Direct the implementation of behavior management programs and ensure consistent carry-through. Make patient & task assignments to subordinates & monitor their performance of duties. Provide training & education to staff, patients, families, & others. Document patient care, ensure that data is accurate, & that it is included in the master treatment plan via timely nursing care plan updates. Work with the treatment team to provide a consistently therapeutic milieu. Work with referral sources and ensure timely review of pending referrals which includes review of clinical information with physicians for appropriateness for our programs. When indicated, working with insurance companies to complete pre-certifications for clients.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, & interventions with patients.
  • Knowledge of milieu management.
  • Ability to direct subordinates in the performance of their duties.
  • Ability to accurately administer medication and monitor side-effects.
  • Ability to safely implement Special Treatment Procedures.
  • Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families
  • Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation

Qualifications

To perform the Nurse role all applicants must be a Registered Nurse in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Clinical experience in the treatment of addiction is preferred. Current CPR certification. Knowledge of Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Program and Commission of Accreditation for Rehabilitation standards.

Previous nursing experience is preferred but not required.
