Riley Power Group is a full-service maintenance and capital construction services company headquartered in Rock Hill, SC. We work nationwide on some of the most challenging, exciting construction and maintenance projects in the industrial sector. We are currently hiring skilled Welders with pipe experience in multiple sites in the US. If you are a hardworking person who possesses the skills and ability to perform the job as outlined below, we would love to hear from you!
Essential Functions of this position may include but are not limited to:
  • Pipe welders should be qualified to perform 100% x-ray quality welds on C/S & SS using GTAW and RMD process
  • Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision.
  • Assist with joint fit up and final weld joint alignment to include some rigging and lifting if necessary.
  • Ideal candidates will be proficient with RMD and, GTAW/TIG - vertical 6G position
  • Performs welding processes on carbon/Stainless pipe; standard bevel
  • Plan, lay-out, weld, install, and repair all types of pipe and similar tubular products in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes and industry standards utilizing a variety of hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment.
  • Use appropriate hand power tools (i.e. cutting torch/grinders) install supports, valves and other control equipment; test installed systems and install all other related items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications; must be familiar with properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage and welding techniques; bolts, clamps or other welding related equipment; weld components according to specific process and code; and install all other items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications. Weld components in flat, vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions. Clamp hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
  • Must be able to set up machine including safely running lines and be able to adjust gas flow and pressure so that desired flames are obtained. Knowledge of operation of welding equipment electrodes, fluxes and shielded gases and welding processes.
  • Welds on site must pass quality audits on a continuous basis.
  • Knowledge of carbon steel and other alloy metals.
  • Understand, support, and follow lockout tag out procedures. Attend site specific training and assure you follow all procedures as out lined in training.
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Use effective verbal and written communication skills. Add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately.
  • Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Read and understand plans and specifications, including diagrams, prints, orthographic and isometric drawings and visualize two dimensional drawings in three dimensions.
  • Comply with Company Code of Conduct and jobsite policies.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervisor.

Qualification, education, and experience requirements:
  • At least five years of pipe welding experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in an industrial construction setting.
  • Must pass the welding test on the specific procedures and welding code that is to be performed on the project.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of the pipe welder craft and various welding codes and specifications.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Must work the schedule, currently 6 days a week 11.5hrs per day.
  • Must have basic tools to perform welding duties and bring tools to site.

Successful candidate must possess the willingness and ability to complete and pass all pre-employment and employment screening requirements which may include but are not limited to: Practical skills, COVID-19, other medical, psychological (if required by site), background and substance abuse screening(s).
Physical Requirements:
* Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas, see and hear naturally or with correction.
* Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.
* Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls according to a set procedure.
* Requires repetitive movement.
* Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
* Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
Work Environment:
* Typical construction site environment
* Requires working in cramped workspaces and getting into awkward positions.
* Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc.
* Requires working in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions
* Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
* Work around hazardous equipment.
Citizenship/ Work Authorization Requirements:
  • Proof of Identification - Driver's license or any other identification card issued by federal, state, or local government that contains a photograph and the person's name, date of birth, gender, height, eye color, and street address.
  • Must be a citizen of the US, its possessions or territories, or lawful permanent resident as defined by USC 1101(a)(20), or protected individual as defined by USC 1324b(a)(3)

  • U.S. birth certificate (birth documents issued by a hospital, notifications of birth registrations; and Puerto Rico birth certificates issued before July 1, 2010, are not accepted
  • Valid, unexpired U.S. passport or U.S. passport card
  • U.S. Certificate of Citizenship or Certificate of Naturalization
  • A record of Military Processing-Armed forces of the United States (Form DD 1966), provided it reflects U.S. citizenship.
