Position Description
At River City Construction our Safety Supervisor's support our project teams and are primarily site-based at client facilities throughout Central Illinois. This role focuses on promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture across all project sites. To be considered for this position, candidates must have a minimum of two years of applicable safety experience in construction, industrial, or a similar field-based environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Attend site meetings and collaborate with jobsite leadership
  • Perform safety audits and ensure compliance across multiple locations
  • Monitor, identify, and mitigate operational, safety, and environmental risks
  • Meet with clients to address safety requirements and expectations
  • Ensure compliance with contractor, client, and all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations

Key Functions
  • Promoting Safety Leadership: Serve as a driving force behind River City Construction LLC and its subsidiaries' safety culture. Foster engagement and accountability at all levels of the organization, encouraging every individual to take ownership of workplace safety.
  • Maintaining Documentation: Continuously monitor and maintain all safety-related documentation, reports, and records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Proactive Auditing: Prioritize hazard recognition through regular audits of multiple jobsites. Ensure compliance while establishing strong communication channels with site leadership at all levels.
  • Project Training: Support and facilitate ongoing safety training initiatives. Ensure employees remain current with required certifications and proactively identify and implement new training as needed.
  • Incident Investigation: Conduct thorough accident investigations, including root cause analysis. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Project Leadership: Provide effective safety coaching, training, and guidance to operational site employees. Promote a safe, efficient work environment for employees, clients, and the public while reinforcing a positive, top-down safety culture.
  • Relationships and Partnerships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, subsidiaries, and internal teams. Align all partnerships with the company's safety culture and strategic objectives.

Position Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of applicable safety experience in construction, industrial, or a similar field-based environment
  • 4-year degree preferred: B.S. Occupational Safety & Health or similar field is ideal
  • Certifications/Licenses required: OSHA 30 Hour Construction
  • Certifications preferred: BCSP
