The Risk Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for all Agency-related risk management matters and must be available and responsive at all times via mobile phone, email, or text message. This role is exclusively assigned to the potential contract and plays a crucial role in mitigating risk exposure, supporting safe operations, and driving continuous improvement in loss prevention efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training and Coaching: Support safety training initiatives by providing feedback from incident investigations and offering recommendations to reduce future risks.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze trends in incidents, claims, and collisions to prepare regular reports, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary liaison with Agency staff on all matters related to risk management, claims, and incident resolution.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Preferred 4-year degree or combination of relevant education and experience in related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in transportation-industry insurance claims management.
  • Direct experience in evaluating collisions, incidents, and implementing loss prevention strategies within a transportation environment.
  • Strong knowledge of claims processes, incident documentation, and insurance protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, drivers, insurance providers, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in using standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite) and incident management systems.
  • Availability to respond 24/7 to Agency-related risk management issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within a paratransit, fixed-route, or demand-response transit system.
  • Familiarity with Agency operating procedures and service delivery expectations.
  • Certification in risk management, safety, or claims handling (e.g., ARM, CSP, or similar).

Why Join MV Transportation:
