POSITION OVERVIEW
The AVP-Risk Management & Insurance leads the organization's risk management function, including insurance, safety, claims, and risk analysis programs. The role is responsible for mitigating organizational risk, safeguarding assets, driving compliance, and providing data-driven insights and recommendations to support strategic and financial goals.
  • Leads and develops the risk management team.
  • Partners with insurance broker to oversee procurement and administration of all lines of insurance portfolio.
  • Directs loss control and prevention activities based on an analysis of loss and incident data.
  • Develops departmental budget and accumulates cost data to calculate Total Cost of Risk to the organization.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the risk management activities.
  • Develops risk management related policies and procedures.
  • Provides risk management consultation for specific issues and cases.
  • Submits recommendations for changes in the existing risk control and risk financing procedures based on organizational changes.
  • Tracks, tends, and presents risk management results and recommendations based on an analysis of incident/loss data.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Travel: Yes: Minimally, as required (Typically less than 10%)

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree
  • 8-12 years of experience

Licenses and Certifications
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • CPHRM or other risk management certification strongly preferred.
  • OSHA certification preferred.
