Bilingual Regional Safety & Compliance Trainer (Hybrid)
Sunstate Equipment – Trench Division
At Sunstate Equipment, we are committed to safety, service excellence, and building strong partnerships with our customers. Our Trench Division specializes in providing industry-leading trench safety systems and compliance solutions that help contractors protect their teams and stay compliant on every job site.
We are seeking a highly motivated Bilingual Regional Safety & Compliance Trainer to join our growing Trench Division. This role combines safety expertise, instructional leadership, and business development to expand Sunstate’s safety training footprint across the region.
The Bilingual Regional Trench Safety & Compliance Trainer delivers high-quality, compliant safety training to customers and employees, with a primary focus on:
  • Excavation Competent Person (Trench)

  • Confined Space Entry (CSE)

As a subject-matter expert and trusted advisor, this individual provides instruction on regulatory requirements, safe work practices, and the proper use of trench safety systems and related rental equipment.
This role also plays a key part in growing Sunstate’s fee-based safety training business by actively prospecting, developing, and promoting training opportunities within both existing and prospective accounts. The Trainer partners closely with Sales and Operations to support revenue growth, uncover compliance needs, and contribute to regional training goals.
Training & Program Development
  • Develop, market, sell, create, and deliver Sunstate’s fee-based safety training programs

  • Design and continuously enhance training content to align with regulatory standards and market demand

  • Support delivery of additional courses as the portfolio evolves (OSHA 10/30, rigging & signaling, equipment safety, and other industry-recognized programs)

  • Ensure all materials and instruction remain compliant with regulatory changes and industry best practices

Business Development & Sales Support
  • Prospect and grow safety training opportunities within the region

  • Identify new revenue opportunities within existing and prospective accounts

  • Partner with regional sales and branch teams to promote training services

  • Provide on-site and class-based sales support to Sunstate personnel

  • Maintain accurate documentation of prospecting and sales activity in CRM systems

  • Contribute to achieving regional training revenue and market share goals

Administrative & Operational Support
  • Coordinate class scheduling, setup, training aids, and student communications

  • Produce and distribute training accreditation certificates

  • Submit timely reports to management and required governmental agencies

  • Develop annual operating budgets and monthly benchmarking reports

  • Manage travel logistics and expense reporting

Industry Leadership
  • Serve as a key contact for customer safety managers and training departments

  • Attend relevant industry conferences, committees, and workgroups

  • Remain current on regulatory updates and modify processes accordingly

  • Act as a safety advocate and industry expert

Working Environment
  • Fast-paced, high-interaction environment

  • Indoor and outdoor exposure, including job sites and rental equipment areas

  • Significant walking and standing

  • Hybrid position with 70% required regional travel

  • Frequent interaction with employees and customers

Qualifications
Required:
  • 3–5 years of experience in the trench or construction safety industry

  • Strong knowledge of trench safety systems and OSHA regulations

  • Minimum age of 21 to operate company vehicle

  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record

  • Ability to communicate effectively in group training settings

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business systems

  • Ability to pass a company drug screen

  • Full fluency in both English and Spanish, with the ability to translate technical terms

Preferred:
  • Experienced Instructor in CPT, CSE, OSHA 10, OSHA 30

  • Previous sales experience

  • Knowledge of construction equipment
