Sterling Crane LLC: Founded in 1954, Sterling Crane has been one of North America's premier leaders in the heavy lift industry offering operated and bare rentals, sales, parts, and unparalleled service to all our customers. We boast one of the largest inventories of modern lifting equipment in North America, in excess of 1000 units. With an increase in recent demand, we are in need of a CDL Crane Rigger at our Elko Branch.

The crane rigger will assist the crane operator in the preparation of moving heavy materials, equipment, and the building of mobile cranes.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure all applicable rigging meets safety requirements and Sterling Crane standards during the precheck process.
  • Haul materials and equipment between job sites.
  • Signal crane operator during lifts for directional or placement instructions.
  • Guide and position loads as necessary at elevated heights.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • NCCER or NCCCO crane rigger certification - preferred.
  • 3+ years previous experience as a rigger.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to follow safety procedures.
  • Successfully pass post offer drug and physical screens and have a background that meets company requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of math applications, weights, measurements, equipment capacity limitations and wight limits.
  • Problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify safety issues.
  • Previous experience using crane hand signals.
  • Team player who has excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements
  • Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
  • Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move a minimum of 65lbs.
  • Most be able to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects/materials.
  • Must be comfortable working at elevated heights.
