A Rig Welder Helper typically assists the lead welder by preparing materials, maintaining welding equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed on site. Daily tasks often include transporting tools, cleaning work areas, holding or positioning materials for welding, and monitoring supplies. The role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team, often in challenging outdoor environments. Helpers also gain exposure to various welding techniques and equipment, which can provide valuable experience for career advancement in industrial welding.

Experience with welding equipment, hand tools, and knowledge of industry safety certifications like OSHA are commonly required.
