NOW HIRING – RIG MECHANIC

Full-Time • Longview, TX • Shop & Field • Pay: (DOE)

TOPCAT Well Services is a growing East Texas oilfield services company operating workover rigs and well service equipment across the region. We're looking for an experienced Rig Mechanic to keep our fleet running — someone who can diagnose a problem, fix it right the first time, and take pride in equipment that's ready when the crews need it.

You'll work out of our Longview shop with field calls to well-site locations, maintaining and repairing workover rigs, rig carriers, and support equipment. If you know your way around diesel engines, hydraulics, and rig iron, we want to talk to you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

•

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on workover rigs, rig carriers, and support equipment (pumps, swab units, winch trucks, forklifts, generators).

•

Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, and hydraulic, air, and electrical systems.

•

Troubleshoot rig components including drawworks, drum brakes, catheads, and rod and tubing equipment.

•

Respond to breakdown calls in the field and get equipment safely back in service.

•

Perform and document DOT-required inspections and maintenance on rig carriers and commercial vehicles.

•

Keep accurate maintenance records and help manage shop parts inventory.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

•

3+ years of diesel or heavy equipment mechanic experience — oilfield or well service rig experience strongly preferred.

•

Solid working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, air systems, and 12/24-volt electrical.

•

Ability to drive a standard (manual) transmission.

•

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; Class A or B CDL a plus (or willingness to obtain).

•

Familiarity with DOT vehicle maintenance and inspection requirements preferred.

•

Basic welding and cutting-torch skills a plus.

•

Own basic hand tools (we furnish specialty tools).

•

Willingness to be on call for after-hours and weekend breakdowns when needed.

•

High school diploma or GED preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

This is a safety-sensitive position. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical, and are subject to random drug and alcohol testing consistent with Company policy and, where applicable, DOT regulations. Must be authorized to work in the United States. The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds, working outdoors in all weather, and working on, under, and around heavy equipment.
