Delivery & Assembly Supervisor - Theodore
Diakon Logistics provides white-glove, last-mile delivery solutions for leading furniture and appliance retailers nationwide. We are seeking an experienced Delivery & Assembly Supervisor to assess the quality and performance of our furniture delivery and assembly operations. This role is critical in ensuring customer satisfaction, contractor accountability, and operational excellence across all delivery teams. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience as a furniture delivery and assembly contractor and possess the expertise to validate and manage third-party contractor performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Contractor Validation & Onboarding
    • Evaluate and validate the qualifications, experience, and work quality of new delivery contractors, drivers, and assembly helpers before engagement
    • Develop and implement standardized assessment criteria for contractor performance evaluation
  • Quality Assurance & Ride-Along Audits
    • Conduct regular ride-along observations with delivery and assembly teams to assess performance, identify gaps, and ensure compliance with company standards
    • Document observations and provide detailed performance feedback to contractors and internal teams
    • Monitor safe handling practices, customer interactions, and assembly accuracy during field visits
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting
    • Track key performance metrics including delivery timeliness, damage rates, assembly quality, and customer satisfaction scores
    • Generate comprehensive quality reports and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
    • Identify trends in performance issues and develop corrective action plans
  • Training & Development
    • Provide coaching and training to contractors and teams on company standards, best practices, and quality expectations
    • Share best practices across the contractor network to improve overall performance
  • Customer Satisfaction & Issue Resolution
    • Investigate customer complaints related to delivery and assembly quality
    • Work with contractors to resolve issues and prevent recurring problems

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a furniture delivery and/or assembly contractor
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and validate work quality of delivery and assembly operations
  • Proven experience conducting ride-along audits or field assessments of contractor/driver performance
  • Strong knowledge of furniture delivery best practices, safety protocols, and assembly standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to drive frequently and travel to field locations
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive hands-on experience delivering and assembling furniture in a residential, white-glove environment, ideally combined with a lead role
  • Experience with delivery management software
  • Background in training and mentoring teams

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000/year, DOE; plus bonus potential
