Business Development Representative (RIA Channel)

Vestmark, Inc.

Full-time

Re-posted 9 days ago

Job description

Vestmark is building the future of wealth management technology. We are a leading provider of wealth management solutions and services that enable financial advisors and institutions to efficiently manage and trade their clients' portfolios using a purpose-built SaaS ecosystem. With over $2 trillion in assets and 5+ million accounts, we are a trusted partner to some of the largest and most respected players across the wealth management industry.ย

We are seeking a Business Development Representative to join our growing Sales team and help drive awareness and adoption of Vestmark's industry-leading, daily tax-optimized UMA platform and sub-advisory services within the RIA channel. This is an ideal opportunity for a driven, client-facing professional with an internal or hybrid wholesaling background who is eager to take the next step in their career at a high-growth fintech company.ย

In this role, you will work closely with our Asset Manager partners to identify, engage, and qualify new opportunities within the RIA and independent wealth management landscape. You will bring your wholesaling instincts - high call volume, consultative engagement, and channel fluency - to a role that sits at the intersection of financial technology and distribution.ย

Job Responsibilitiesย

  • Proactively engage RIA prospects and distribution contacts through outbound phone, email, and virtual outreach to introduce Vestmark's platform solutions and generate qualified opportunities.ย
  • Support senior Business Development professionals by managing a defined territory or prospect list, scheduling meetings, and preparing materials for advisor-facing conversations and partner firm introductionsย
  • Build and maintain relationships with RIA home office contacts, field distribution representatives, and independent advisors through consistent, value-driven touchpointsย
  • Leverage Vestmark's thought leadership, market insights, and platform capabilities to educate prospective clients on industry trends, tax-managed investing, and the operational advantages of a unified managed account (UMA) approachย
  • Maintain an active and accurate pipeline in Salesforce, logging all outreach activity, tracking engagement, and surfacing opportunitiesย
  • Coordinate and participate in virtual and in-person meetings, regional events, and webinars to support partner engagement and Vestmark brand visibility within the RIA channelย
  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing to stay current on messaging, collateral, and campaign initiatives, ensuring outreach is timely and aligned with go-to-market prioritiesย
  • Act as a feedback loop internally, sharing prospect objections, competitive intelligence, and market trends with Product, Marketing, and Sales leadership to inform strategyย

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skillsย

  • Bachelor's degree required or relevant experienceย
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial services in a client-facing, distribution, or sales support role - including internal wholesaling, hybrid wholesaling, or sales desk experience at an asset management firm, TAMP, or wealth management platformย
  • Demonstrated familiarity with the RIA channel, including how independent advisors evaluate and adopt managed account platforms and investment solutionsย
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage advisors and home office contacts credibly and confidentlyย
  • A proactive, phone-first mentality - comfortable making high-volume outbound calls and conducting virtual meetings with a polished, consultative approachย
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) to manage pipeline, log activities, and track follow-throughย
  • Collaborative by nature, with the ability to work effectively within a matrixed, cross-functional team environmentย
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing a high volume of outreach across multiple prospect relationships simultaneouslyย

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skillsย

  • 2-4 years of experience as an internal or hybrid wholesaler at an asset manager, TAMP, or fintech firm with exposure to the RIA or independent advisor channelย
  • Familiarity with UMA, SMA, or separately managed account structures and how they are utilized within advisory platformsย
  • Experience supporting or working alongside external wholesalers or regional vice presidents in a territory-based coverage modelย
  • Series 65 license (or willingness to obtain)ย
  • Working knowledge of wealth management technology platforms, portfolio management tools, or fintech solutionsย
  • Established or developing network within the RIA or wealth management distribution communityย
