What is Ria Health?

Ria Health is a telehealth program that helps individuals reduce or quit drinking alcohol through personalized medical and behavioral support. The program combines virtual medical care, medication management, coaching, and digital tools to support individuals remotely. Members work with a care team via a mobile app, making it a convenient alternative to traditional in-person treatment. Ria Health's approach is evidence-based and tailored to each person's unique goals and needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Ria Health care coach?

To thrive as a Ria Health Care Coach, you typically need a background in healthcare, such as nursing or counseling, along with experience in addiction treatment. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and motivational interviewing techniques is essential. Excellent communication, compassion, and motivational skills help coaches effectively support and guide patients through their recovery journeys. These skills are crucial for building trust, ensuring patient engagement, and delivering effective care in a digital health environment.

What are some common challenges faced by Ria Health coaches when supporting members through their alcohol reduction journey?

Ria Health coaches often encounter challenges such as helping members maintain motivation during setbacks, addressing ambivalence about behavior change, and customizing support to fit each individual’s unique needs. Coaches must balance empathy with evidence-based strategies, ensuring members feel supported while encouraging accountability. Additionally, collaborating with medical professionals and adapting communication styles for remote, app-based interactions are essential aspects of the role. These challenges make the role both dynamic and rewarding, as coaches play a key part in facilitating lasting change.
