POSITION:
One full-time instructional academic staff position with the title Lecturer in Writing and Rhetoric is available in the English Department at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, beginning August 17, 2026. This is a salaried, one-year appointment with the possibility of renewalbased on programneed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requirements:
- Ph.D.in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, English, or closely related field from an accredited institution;
- Evidence of the successful teaching of writing and rhetoric at the college level;
- At least two semesters of experience teaching first-year composition at the college level;
- Eligible to work in the United States
The following will be considered assets:
- Experience teachingtechnical and/or scientific writing to undergraduates;
- Experience with developmental and/or multilingual writers;
- Experience with multimodal composition;
- Interest, or experience, with teaching 100-level English department courses such as Introduction to Literature.
DUTIES:
The successful candidate will teach the equivalent of 15 credithourseach semester.Teaching assignments willgenerally befour courses per semester: twoundergraduate rhetoric coursesin technical and scientific writingandtwocoursesin the first-year writing program, theBlugoldSeminar in Critical Reading and Writing (https://www.uwec.edu/offices-services/blugold-seminar).
