Position Summary

Chartis Federal is seeking an experienced RF Network Engineer to support our customer. This role provides network engineering support to ensure the performance, availability, and reliability of mission-critical communications infrastructure.


The RF Network Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of network systems and devices supporting TACCOM operations. This position operates within established configuration, change management, and security frameworks to ensure all network changes are controlled, compliant, and aligned with Government requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain network devices and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, and associated infrastructure.
  • Perform system maintenance and execute network upgrades, including implementation of security updates, patches, and hot fixes.
  • Monitor network performance to ensure system availability, reliability, and optimal operation.
  • Track system resource utilization and perform trend analysis and capacity planning to support sustained operations.
  • Provide Tier II / Tier III technical support and troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve network issues.
  • Monitor, test, and diagnose system and peripheral equipment to identify and resolve operational problems.
  • Respond to and resolve incidents reported by end users to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
  • Operate within established configuration and change management processes to ensure all network changes are documented, approved, and successfully implemented.
  • Select, implement, and maintain security tools, policies, and procedures in coordination with Government security personnel.
  • Coordinate with vendors, internal engineering teams, and Government stakeholders to support incident resolution and system improvements.
  • Liaise with other IT personnel to ensure effective integration and operation of network infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of network engineering experience
  • Experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Experience supporting enterprise or mission-critical network environments
  • Demonstrated experience providing Tier II / Tier III support
  • Experience with change management and configuration control
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
