Job Description
  • Must be able to work safely in a production environment.
  • Assemble all phases of power unit construction using a bill of material, arrangement drawing and schematic. (Use of hand tools such as tape measure, pneumatic tools and metal cutting equipment required.)
  • Fit and weld pipe joints and structural assemblies per established welding codes using various welding processes such as GTAW, GMAW, SMAW and FCAW.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision according to standard shop guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Will work in an industrial environment in and around large machinery. 
  • Proper safety equipment is provided and must be worn at all times.
  • Overtime may be requested.
  • Perform other essential and related peripheral duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate from an accredited institution or equivalent (GED) with vocational/technical training in welding field/trade.
  • Candidates with two to five years prior welding and have mechanical experience
  • GTWA and GMWA certifications preferred
  • Capable of passing welder qualification test.
  • Willingness to become certified to operate crane/scissor lift and/or fork lift.
  • Ability to develop proper welding techniques.
  • Candidates with previous pipe welding experience will be given preference.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.  Must demonstrate the ability to listen carefully, follow directions accurately, and complete work assignments in a timely manner.
  • Able to read drawings and schematics.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis.
  • Able to travel up to 20%.
