Material Handler (Nights Only)

Night Shift Material Handler - Raw Materials Summary: Provides support to the Mixing Department and Raw Materials Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example - promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Complete a Risk Assessment at the beginning of every shift.
  • Recognize and mitigate safety hazards and quality issues.
  • Responsible for proper housekeeping and safety practices in work area.
  • Utilize RF Scanner to move materials upstairs in SAP.
  • Convey materials from storage, dock or work sites to mixing lines.
  • Utilize the BDE system to upload rework when applicable.
  • Ownership of the collapsible bin staging area and staging material for the Grinders.
  • Band rework rolls or sheets utilizing a bander.
  • Grind rework and records quantity ground into grinding logbook.
  • Sift rework and records material sifted into sifting logbook.
  • Pulverize rework and record material pulverized into pulverizing logbook.
  • Pump liquids into the liquid tanks and record this activity in the liquid pumping logbook.
  • Record rework added to silo in the silo-filling logbook.
  • Record rework removed from the silo in the silo-unloading logbook.
  • Unload materials for shipments off trucks and follow KP Policy on Dock Operation.
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials.
  • Stack materials as needed to ensure an efficient work environment.
  • Utilize bailer to band scrap Supersacks.
  • Clean work area, machines, and equipment to maintain working area.
  • Complete inspection checklist prior to use of fork truck/walk-behind.
  • Operate industrial fork truck/walk-behind to assist in loading or moving raw materials and rework.
  • Operate Floor Sweeper at the end of every shift.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
