About the Roleย ย 

We areย seeking a strategic, analytical, and business-savvy Finance Manager to partner closely with Engineering, Product, and our leadership teams to drive financial planning, investment strategy, and operational rigor across the business, with a primary focus on R&D. This role will report to the Director of Strategic Finance and partner with cross-functional leaders to drive financial planning, analysis, forecasting, and strategic decision support. You will play a key role in informing how Armadaย allocatesย resources and invests in innovation.ย 

Location.ย This role is remote-based on the continental US.ย ย 

What You'll Do

Cross-Functional Partnershipย 

  • Act as a trusted finance partner to Engineering, Product, and other business teamsย 
  • Collaborate with Accounting on month-end close, accruals, and relevant accounting considerations (e.g., capitalization policies)ย 
  • Partner with broader teams (GTM,ย RevOps, Strategic Finance) to ensure alignment across company plansย 

Financial Strategy & Planningย 

  • Own financial planning for key functions, with a primary focus on R&D, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planningย 
  • Partner with Engineering and Product leaders to translate technical roadmaps into financial plansย 
  • Develop and track key metrics (e.g., cost efficiency, headcount productivity)ย 

Investment Strategy & Decision Supportย 

  • Evaluate new product initiatives, infrastructure investments, and key business opportunities through detailed financial models and business casesย 
  • Support prioritization of resources across competing initiativesย 
  • Conduct scenario analysis to inform trade-offs between growth, cost, and operational efficiencyย 

Budgeting, Forecasting & Variance Analysisย 

  • Lead budgeting cycles and monthly/quarterly forecast updates for supported functionsย 
  • Analyze variances andย provideย actionable insights to improve cost discipline and predictabilityย 
  • Partner with business leaders to track performance against financial targetsย ย 

Process Improvement & Scalingย 

  • Build scalable processes, reporting frameworks, and dashboards to support financial visibility and decision-makingย 
  • Improve visibility into spend, hiring, and investment performanceย 
  • Drive automation and tooling enhancements across FP&A systemsย

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experienceย in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, or related rolesย ย 
  • Bachelor's degree inย Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field;ย MBAย orย CPA/CFAย preferred.ย 
  • Experience supporting Engineering, Product, R&D, or other technical/business functions preferredย 
  • Strong financial modeling skills (scenario modeling, investment analysis, headcount planning)ย 
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in a high-growth environmentย 
  • Familiarity with software development cost capitalization and related accounting concepts is a plusย 
  • Experience with financial systems (e.g., NetSuite,ย Pigment, or similar) and data toolsย 
  • Advanced Excelย proficiencyย requiredย 

Compensation & Benefits

For U.S. Based candidates: To ensure fairness and transparency, the startingย base salary range for this role for candidates in the U.S. are listed, varying based on location experience, skills, and qualifications. ย In addition to base salary, this role will also be offered equity and subsidized benefits (details available upon request).

We use a geographic pay structure based on cost-of-labor markets.ย 

  • Tier 1 (e.g., SF Bay Area, NYC, Seattle): $139,290 - $174,110ย 
  • Tier 2 (most U.S. metro areas): $121,120 - $154,400ย 
  • Tier 3 (other cities): $115,070 - $143,830

Final compensation will beย determinedย by experience, scope, and level, and may vary from the posted range.ย
