The term 'revolving door' refers to the movement of individuals between roles as legislators or regulators and positions in industries affected by the legislation and regulation. This can involve government officials transitioning to private sector jobs in industries they once oversaw, or vice versa. The revolving door phenomenon raises concerns about conflicts of interest and regulatory capture, but can also mean the transfer of valuable expertise between sectors.
